Born from an open-hearted discussion with the best trad BD athletes, Hazel Findlay, Carlo Traversi, Sam Elias, and Babsi Zangerl, the Camalot Z4 Offsets are the fulfillment of a dream: to have a single-stem Camalot that remains rigid in hand but flexes once in place. Here is the patent-pending RigidFlex stem. Thanks to their independently floating trigger wires, the Camalot Z4 Offsets do not flex when under tension or retracted, but once in place, they allow the stem to move and achieve a placement that stays in place and doesn't move when pulled in a certain direction.
For larger sizes, the stem also features a double twisted cable structure that provides uniform flexibility in all directions, while for smaller sizes, a single cable is used to prevent deformation when pulling hard on the trigger and to reduce the trigger's volume.
The sizes of the Camalot Z4 Offsets also ensure that you have the perfect placement in hand for all eventualities, in piton holes, in non-uniform placements, and irregular cracks that are, worldwide, significantly more numerous than perfect cracks. With a head of the same width as the previous model, the Camalot C3, but with 4 sandblasted lobes for better pull-out resistance, the Camalot Z4 is not just an improved version. It is also available in smaller sizes, ranging from size #0, the smallest Camalot ever made, up to size 0.75 allowing you to adjust the gear, whether you're looking for cracks at the summit or progressing with lightness and speed in the Alps.
Camalot™ Z4 Offset
A new standard in single-stem Camalots, the Camalot Z4 Offsets feature the revolutionary RigidFlex stem design which, as the name suggests, remains rigid when placed but becomes flexible when you climb. They ensure a good grip and reduce the distance to travel for a solid placement you can rely on. These offset cam models ensure that you always have the right gear in piton holes or in non-uniform placements.
