Designed for long days in the mountains, halfway between running and alpine travel, the Black Diamond Distance 15 Gen 2 is a hybrid pack that combines the freedom of movement of a running vest with the capacity and features of a technical backpack.
Its carry system, inspired by running vests, provides a close-to-body fit and moves with you during fast-paced travel. BD SETT (Stitchless Edge Taping Technology) uses an edge construction without traditional seams to improve shoulder strap comfort, fit, and durability, while also helping reduce weight.
The main UHMWPE ripstop fabric was specially developed to offer an excellent balance of lightness and strength. With a capacity of 15 liters, the Distance 15 provides enough space to carry the gear needed for more ambitious mountain objectives, without becoming bulky when the pace picks up.
Its Z-Pole storage system, accessible on the move, allows you to quickly stow or retrieve poles, while the integrated sleeves keep them securely in place. For more technical terrain, the pack also offers two ice axe carry options.
Soft flask pockets on the shoulder straps, several stretch storage pockets, and a secure inner pocket complete this pack designed for those who like to run when the trail allows it and climb when the terrain steepens.
