Transversely loaded carabiners are now a thing of the past thanks to the Attache Bar carabiner. When used with the removable bar, the pear-shaped Attache carabiner becomes a versatile tool. It becomes a unidirectional carabiner, oriented to load the major axis and maximize ease of use when braking or using ropes for glacier travel. It has an H-shaped frame to keep weight low and a round metal basket that creates a smooth surface for the rope to slide easily when braking with a Munter hitch, a VERSO, or a REVERSO.
